We are seeking an experienced engineer or scientist to lead the design and construction of complex hardware in the loop (HWIL) test systems for weapon systems critical to our nation's defense.
About the RoleAs a Hardware in the Loop Engineer Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers to design, build, and run HWIL testbeds around unique weapon systems. You will mentor staff on HWIL designs, break up tasks as needed, and present status and results to project, program, and external sponsors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers to design and build HWIL testbeds
- Mentor staff on HWIL designs and break up tasks as needed
- Present status and results to project, program, and external sponsors
- Work with software and hardware designers to understand latency, thread safety, and data communication protocols
- Document code, setup CI/CD, and network systems together
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar field
- 6+ years of experience working with HWIL testbeds
- Skilled in software programming, electrical signals, and embedded systems communication
- Ability to lead a team of 2-6 engineers to design and build HWIL testbeds
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
- Significant experience designing and setting up HWIL testbeds
- Experience designing high-fidelity software simulations for flying platforms
- Familiarity with weapon systems such as missiles, hypersonics, seekers, and naval platforms
- Familiarity with CUDA, FPGA, GIT, compilers, software-defined radio (SDR), or RFSoC, networking protocols, object-oriented programming, Python, MatLab, Simulink, and RF systems
