Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Parks Maintenance Operator. This role is responsible for performing various duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of city buildings, recreation facilities, parks, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance, including construction, installation, and repair of city buildings and facilities.
  • Assure proper operation of lighting fixtures, doors, windows, and plumbing, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Operate lawn mowing equipment, perform routine repair and lubrication, and maintain grounds and facilities.
  • Identify and address pest, fungus, and insect issues affecting park plants, trees, and shrubs, and apply chemicals as necessary.
  • Perform seasonal duties, including winterizing sprinkler systems, flushing watering systems, and repairing equipment and facilities.
  • Train and assist other laborers as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of related work experience preferred.
  • Valid Utah driver's license required; CDL class B with tanker endorsement required within six months of hire.
  • Pesticide/Herbicide applicator license required within six months of hire.
  • OSHA Safety Certificate required.
Working Conditions

This position requires a variety of physical activities, including walking, standing, stooping, sitting, pulling, and reaching. Essential functions require talking, hearing, and seeing. Daily local travel is necessary for job performance, and ongoing exposure to changing weather conditions is expected.
