About the Role

The Hartford Financial Services Group is seeking a highly skilled Director of Data Science to lead our Language AI Enablement team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge NLP and Gen AI solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers to design, develop, and deploy robust tools and solutions using unsupervised techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and develop strategies to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research techniques and tools in the NLP and Gen AI space, and apply this knowledge to evolve best practices and guide the direction of our Data Science community.
  • Develop and maintain long-term tools and solutions to continually evolve the practice of data science, with a focus on end-to-end solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in data science, with a focus on NLP and Gen AI.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar analytical field.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling, inference, and building machine learning algorithms in Python.
  • Experience with managing Data Scientists and Data Engineers, and providing guidance through solution development.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into business solutions and strategies.
What We Offer

The Hartford Financial Services Group offers a competitive salary range of $148,000 - $222,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
