Rio Vista Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utilization Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Utilization Department, you will play a critical role in providing administrative support to our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-certification and negotiation of continued stay with third-party payers, ensuring seamless communication and efficient resolution of issues.
- Gather and analyze data to support case management activities, including presentation of gathered data and case notes, to inform clinical decision-making.
- Coordinate discharge planning with the clinical team, maintaining accurate records and following up on patient status to ensure timely and effective transitions.
- Present case information and the needs of third-party payers to relevant stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Assist in admissions review, concurrent reviews, and discharge planning, providing critical support to the clinical team.
- Assist physicians in peer review by serving as an information resource, gathering data to support review, and scheduling peer review as needed.
- Inform management about the status of current patients, documenting utilization activities as instructed, and participating in performance improvement activities to drive continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification as a Registered Addiction Specialist, certified Substance Abuse Counselor, or similar certification preferred.
