Nemours Foundation is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. This role offers FULL-TIME opportunities with 12-hour shifts, including NIGHTS OR ROTATING schedules, along with weekend and holiday rotations.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
To qualify, candidates must commit to a two-year night shift schedule and possess a minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children is a specialized 24-bed facility within a Level 1 Trauma Center. Our patients often present with complex conditions requiring intensive monitoring and care, including:
acute and reversible loss of consciousness, respiratory failure, compromised air exchange, cardiovascular dysfunction, hepatic failure, hemodynamic instability, renal dysfunction, central nervous system injury or dysfunction, acute trauma, and organ failure necessitating transplantation.
In the PICU, we utilize advanced life support technologies for various treatments and interventions.These include, but are not limited to, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, tracheal intubation, ECMO, pharmacologic support of circulation, mechanical ventilation, point of care monitoring, CRRT, thoracentesis, and hemodynamic, intracranial pressure, and intravascular monitoring.
Each patient room is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities, including electrocardiographic, pulse oximetry, respiratory, hemodynamic, and intracranial pressure monitoring, as well as central EKG and respiratory monitoring.
Our specialized equipment includes radiant warmer beds, heating/cooling blanket systems, Mapleson manual ventilation systems, end-tidal CO2 monitors, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intracranial pressure monitoring systems, ventriculostomy systems, infusion pumps, blood warmers, continuous renal replacement systems, and peripheral nerve stimulators.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric intensive care nursing experience preferred
- Current registration or eligibility for Delaware State Board of Nursing Licensure
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association; PALS certification preferred.
Certifications:
- CCRN preferred
