Job Summary

EmergeOrtho is a trusted leader in innovative, quality-focused comprehensive musculoskeletal care, with offices across North Carolina. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients based on findings, completing documentation in a timely manner, communicating with physicians and other members of the medical team, and supervising therapist assistants and aides in direct patient care and related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations, including reviewing patients' medical histories, testing and measuring strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function.
• Prepare treatment plans describing a strategy, purpose, goals, and anticipated outcome, and administer manual techniques and apply modalities/physical agents as needed.
• Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit, consulting with physician and other practitioners when necessary.
• Teach patients to use assistive and adaptive devices and instruct patients on at-home exercises, and record evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, and charges timely, legibly, and in compliance with applicable requirements.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited PT/OT school and a State of North Carolina Therapy License are required.
• Current CPR certification is also necessary, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
• Comfortable using email, internet applications, and practice management software, with strong customer orientation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
