About the Role:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Foreman to join our team in Colorado. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm, ensuring the efficient and effective management of our crops and livestock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Farming Operations:
    • Assist with planting, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting, and storing of crops
    • Be knowledgeable of farming equipment function, abilities, and constraints, and perform daily maintenance on its components
    • Perform select equipment maintenance and repairs as time and resources permit
    • Oversee irrigation activities every day of the week when applicable, and have feedback systems in place to minimize downtime and reduce risk of property or crop damage due to improper function of the pivot systems
    • Harvest and store crops in a manner that helps meet cattle and dairy production goals
    • Help oversee the application of dry manure and compost to fields
    • Help oversee the storage, handling, and application of dairy effluent water through center pivots
    • Help keep environmental records on farming activities, precipitation, pond levels, solid application, pumping, etc.
    • Coordinate with Farm Team on specific farming activities
  • Team Management:
    • Take direction from the farm manager, with good problem-solving skills and the initiative to find a solution when the need arises
    • Communicate and coordinate with the farm team to ensure smooth operation of farm activities

Requirements:

  • 35 years of current experience in row crop production and working with large farm equipment
  • Plant through harvest experience preferred
  • Experience and current understanding with precision GPS equipment
  • Ability to handle routine maintenance and general repair
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Time management to accomplish daily tasks in a timely manner required
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Individual that is committed, loyal, and honest with the intent of long term career in mind
  • Maintain good attitude, self-motivator the willingness to jump in when needed
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team player in a safe and productive manner
