Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will assist physicians and office personnel with various responsibilities, including clerical tasks, patient preparation, scheduling, laboratory work, radiology, and managing medical records.

In your interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor is essential. You will also undertake related tasks as assigned, with all duties and qualifications subject to reasonable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with in-room patient checkouts, including front-end collection processes.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  • Prepare instruments for healthcare providers.
  • Complete patient pre-certifications and prior authorizations.
  • Support providers in completing necessary patient documentation.
  • Educate patients and their families on relevant health information.
  • Manage advanced in-basket requests and communications.
  • Administer injections and communicate test results to patients.
  • Maintain universal precautions and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Adhere to the dress code and maintain personal hygiene for a professional appearance.
  • Perform additional duties as directed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with relevant healthcare experience considered.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant certification from an approved certifying body; CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Skills: Successful completion of Clinic Academy or completion within 30 days for new Medical Assistants, along with annual completion of the Clinic Competency Checklist. Critical thinking skills, initiative, and knowledge of chronic diseases are essential. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies is required. Proficiency in communication and relationship-building with patients, staff, and the public is crucial.
