Position Overview:

Covenant HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and qualified Gastroenterologist to provide high-quality digestive care to patients in rural communities. As a hospital-employed physician, you will play a key role in delivering care to underserved communities through our collaborative partnership with Aspire Rural Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, including esophageal, liver, pancreatic, and colon diseases.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies (EGD), and other relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to coordinate patient care across Covenant HealthCare and Aspire Rural Health System.
  • Provide consultation services and ongoing care for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of digestive care protocols and best practices within the rural health system.
  • Support the strategic goals of the collaborative agreement between Covenant HealthCare and Aspire Rural Health System, aimed at improving access to specialty care in rural areas.
  • Provide on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid and unrestricted Michigan medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Experience in rural health settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
