Position Overview: We are in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Recreational Activities Coordinator to become a vital part of our team. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Activities Director to design and execute a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic programs for our residents. This position plays a significant role in enhancing social interaction, cognitive engagement, and overall wellness for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of diverse activities and programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of our residents.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities that foster social interaction, cognitive engagement, and physical activity.
  • Support the setup and cleanup of activity spaces and materials.
  • Maintain thorough records of resident involvement and feedback.
  • Work in partnership with other staff members to ensure activities are seamlessly integrated into each resident's overall care plan.
  • Provide assistance and support to residents during activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or training in recreation therapy or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Compassionate and patient, with a sincere interest in the well-being of others.
