Patient Care Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Feinberg Observation Unit. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes, taking and recording vital signs, and performing normal newborn hearing screenings.
- Indirect Patient Care: Maintain a safe and clean environment, perform duties delegated by the RN, and assist with pre-and post-operative care.
- Additional Responsibilities: Participate in staff meetings, demonstrate a cost-effective approach to patient care, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
- CNA Certification or currently enrolled in SON with basic clinical rotations completed.
- CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
- Minimum of 90% correct on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
- Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.
- High school diploma required; one year of college or nursing education preferred.
