We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Anesthesiology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management of acute pain services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate inpatient acute pain services, including performing consultations and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
- Collaborate with residents, students, and nurses to provide education and training on pain management.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and order medical laboratory tests as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments, and perform minor surgery as required.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and inventory of medical supplies.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient processing and treatment.
- Master's Degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently, as well as pushing, pulling, and reaching occasionally. The ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials is required.
