Department Manager - Front End

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Department Manager position at Runnings. As a Department Manager, you will oversee merchandising and sales in your designated department. Your main goal is to deliver top-notch customer service and report to the Store Manager. You'll need to be flexible with your work schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. It's a plus if you have a good grasp of operational processes and procedures.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise in the department.
• Ensure sufficient inventory levels in all areas of the department.
• Assist customers with their purchases.
• Collaborate closely with Retail Buyers to stay informed about departmental product needs.
• Support in training and guiding new team members in the department.
• Promote a safe environment when handling merchandise for both employees and customers.

Additional Duties:

Complete any additional tasks delegated by the Store Manager.

Requirements:

• Capable of working varied shifts.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Extended periods of standing required.
• Frequent bending and twisting movements.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• High School Diploma desirable.
• Prior experience or training in Customer Service is advantageous.

Work Environment and Conditions:

You will be operating in a Retail Store Environment.

Equipment and Tools:

Computer, Calculator, Cash register with scanner, Telephone, Fax, Copy Machine, Computer software and network.
