Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a highly motivated and driven individual to lead our team in the development of Apple's server products. As a manager, you will play a significant part in the development of our server products by engaging in a collaborative and constantly evolving environment to integrate new technologies into our designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a focused team on the spectrum of low-level operating systems, OS services, data center services, network protocols, and APIs.
  • Drive both individual product features and overall system validation activities.
  • Work with extraordinary teams in Cupertino, Seattle, and London who have a real passion for engineering and delivering features that maintain strong privacy and security guarantees to end users.
  • Balance multiple priorities and handle uncertainty.
  • Build positive relationships with the engineers on our team as well as partner teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven excellence in system software development, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years leading a development or qualification teams.
  • Expertise and proficiency in tools/framework development and using Python, C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with designs that are secure and private first.
  • Self-directed: The ability to drive a project from a simple idea to production.
  • Passion for product ownership and track record of product development and large-scale frame working and automation development.
  • Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams.
  • Experience with developing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • BS or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
