Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment, including motors, controllers, and plumbing systems, in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Interpret blueprints and written specifications for electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic applications.
  • Plumbing and HVAC: Install and repair all types of plumbing, including water, gas, steamline, and hydraulic systems.
  • Safety Procedures: Use safe practices when repairing and checking equipment, including safety tagout-lockout procedures.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Cleaning and Lubrication: Clean and lubricate equipment according to maintenance schedules.
  • Mechanical Fabrication: Operate machine tools, such as lathes, drills, presses, and grinders, to fabricate, modify, and repair machinery and mechanical parts.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure that job operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner, following instructions from supervisors and the environmental group.
  • Housekeeping and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Lift Truck Mechanic Duties: Perform routine maintenance and service on motorized equipment, document preventative maintenance and expenditure programs, and clean and lubricate equipment according to established schedules.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent, journeyman or equivalent (minimum 10 years of experience), and additional training in electrical apprenticeship or J.V.S.
  • Skills and Abilities: Blueprint reading ability for electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, oral and written communication skills, mechanical ability to use tools of the trade, welding capability, and lift truck skills.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work overtime as needed, work at heights of 10 to 50 feet, dirty/oily working environments, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and practice safety lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment.
