The Vision Systems Analyst team operates within the Core Technology Engineering (CTE) division at Intuitive.
The primary objective of this group is to ensure the highest image quality for our surgeons across all daVinci robotic systems.
Our emphasis is primarily on imaging algorithms, algorithmic optimization, and the calibration of endoscopes, displays, and illumination systems necessary for achieving superior image quality.
We also assist in specifying and defining the light sources, optics, sensors, and displays utilized in daVinci robotic systems, as each of these components plays a crucial role in surgical image quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and enhance methodologies and algorithms for characterizing and calibrating display and illumination sources.
- Conduct image quality assessments for new features and algorithms through experimental research, providing direct feedback to engineering and clinical teams.
- Collaborate with external vendors for technology selection and iterations.
- Deliver high-quality camera video to clinicians.
- Support formal risk analysis and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Master’s or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, imaging science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in imaging.
• Knowledge and experience with camera, display, and illumination technologies.
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Experience in both subjective and objective image quality evaluation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or C++.
