Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Central Stark County. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will be responsible for designing and implementing daily lesson plans, leading a team of Assistant Teachers, and ensuring the well-being and personal growth of our young students.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children aged 3-5.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Assistant Teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Conduct regular observations and evaluations of each child, identifying areas of strength and need, and developing strategies to support their growth and development.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in the educational process.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and family nights, contributing to the development of our early childhood education program.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and participate in physical activities with children.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Early childhood classroom experience, including lesson planning and conducting assessments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and its application in early childhood education.
