About the RoleThis position is part of our Cartage team, which focuses on building and sustaining our proprietary web application that supports short-haul truck dispatches. You will be responsible for translating requirements into system design specifications and implementing systems throughout the entire software development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement mission-critical enterprise-scale business systems
- Translate requirements into system design specifications

- Maintain a thorough understanding of the logistics business domain
- Stay up-to-date with evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study
- Robust Java coding abilities
- At least 5 years of experience in a software development role in a team environment
- Experience with web development, Angular, Bootstrap, and/or similar front-end frameworks
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and dependency injection
- Experience with IntelliJ, Maven, GitLab, or GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with object-oriented analysis and design, relational database concepts, and SQL
- Customer service-oriented attitude and great time-management skills
- Ability to communicate across IT and business roles
- Experience mentoring and/or coaching others in a team environment
- Experience developing in and provisioning within a cloud infrastructure
- Agile/SAFe leadership experience, including continuous improvement of team processes
- Web-based and service-based architectures and deployment paradigms
- Experience with data fabric or data lake repositories and integrations
- Operating systems, including Linux, preferably RHEL8
- Experience with event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, CQRS, and Kafka
- Expected base salary: $110,000 to $175,000
