Job Summary

County Materials Corporation is a leading manufacturer and trusted industry resource for concrete construction and landscape products. We are seeking a skilled Girder Driver to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver products in accordance with company policies and practices, performed in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Interface with clients to provide exceptional customer service and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and in-route inspections on all equipment, including securement devices, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Properly secure loads prior to transport, following DOT regulations, to ensure safe transportation of products.
  • Operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport products to customers.
  • Transport products while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in loading and unloading of girders, ensuring safe and efficient handling of products.
  • Perform route surveys prior to delivery to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of products.
  • Ensure cleanliness and good operating condition for assigned tractor, adhering to company maintenance standards.
  • Receive work assignments and report back on job completion, maintaining open communication with dispatchers.
  • Maintain customer relations by acting in a professional, courteous manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Work Environment
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures, to ensure safe and efficient delivery of products.
  • Work near moving machinery and equipment, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Work in a noisy environment, requiring attention to safety and communication protocols.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods to operate tractor-trailer combinations.
  • Carrying and lifting heavy loads to ensure safe handling of products.
  • Standing, walking, and climbing to perform tasks related to loading and unloading of girders.
  • Squatting, crouching, kneeling, and bending to perform tasks related to product handling and delivery.
  • Pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder to perform tasks related to product handling and delivery.
Experience and Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Must hold a valid Class A CDL prior to hire, with a minimum of 2-4 years of Class A CDL driving experience.
  • T Endorsement for doubles and triples required.
