Job Overview

Mark Young Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled Concrete/Demolition Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for concrete and demolition projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Project Review: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify potential cost factors.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions.
  • Scope Development: Develop comprehensive project scopes and schedules.
  • Bid Solicitation: Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Bid Analysis: Analyze and evaluate bid proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Documentation: Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and related documentation.
  • Database Maintenance: Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records.
  • Pre-Bid Meetings: Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on concrete and demolition projects.
  • Field Work: Ability to be in the field 25% of time.
  • Software Skills: Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of concrete and demolition methods, materials, and industry standards is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
