Job OverviewMark Young Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled Concrete/Demolition Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Bidding: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for concrete and demolition projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Project Review: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify potential cost factors.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions.
- Scope Development: Develop comprehensive project scopes and schedules.
- Bid Solicitation: Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Bid Analysis: Analyze and evaluate bid proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Documentation: Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and related documentation.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records.
- Pre-Bid Meetings: Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on concrete and demolition projects.
- Field Work: Ability to be in the field 25% of time.
- Software Skills: Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of concrete and demolition methods, materials, and industry standards is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
