Automotive Service Technician Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team at EasyCare Recruiting. As an Automotive Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing client and dealership vehicles while maintaining a positive relationship with clients who return with unsatisfactory work.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify areas of repair
* Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor to determine the best course of action
* Communicate additional service requests to service advisor to ensure timely completion
* Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman to ensure efficient use of time
* Provide labor time estimates to service advisor to manage client expectations
* Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly to ensure timely completion
* Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure quality work
* Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate records
* Assist in mentoring technician trainees to develop their skills
* Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies
* Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure knowledge of the latest developments
* Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) to ensure compliance

**Requirements**

* High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma)
* Manufacturer certification preferred
* Experience with various brands preferred
* Valid driver's license
