About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Rheumatologist to join our team at the Dermatology Skin and Cancer Institute. As a Rheumatologist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treating Rheumatic Conditions: Diagnose and treat various rheumatic conditions, including arthritis, back pain, and osteoporosis, using evidence-based medicine standards.
  • Studying Symptoms and Evaluating Effects: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' symptoms and assess the effects of rheumatic conditions on the immune system.
  • Designing Treatment Plans: Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to address patients' unique needs and improve their quality of life.
  • Assessing Joint-Related Conditions: Evaluate and diagnose joint-related conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Evaluating Lab Results and Advanced Tests: Interpret laboratory test results and other advanced diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
  • Ordering and Interpreting Laboratory Tests: Order and interpret laboratory tests, including blood work and imaging studies, to diagnose and monitor rheumatic conditions.
  • Performing Physical Examinations and Imaging Scans: Conduct thorough physical examinations and perform imaging scans, such as X-rays and MRIs, to diagnose and monitor rheumatic conditions.
  • Prescribing Medications and Physical Therapy: Prescribe medications and physical therapy to manage rheumatic conditions and improve patients' quality of life.
  • Providing Counseling and Education: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies to empower them to take an active role in their care.
  • Collaborating with Primary Care Physicians: Work closely with primary care physicians to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Attending Patient Care Conferences and Meetings: Participate in weekly patient care conferences and attend meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Training and Supervising Staff: Train, supervise, and evaluate staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Maintaining Medical Records and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Obtaining Medical Authorizations and Referrals: Obtain medical authorizations and referrals for procedures, tests, and informal conferences as needed.
  • Overseeing Facility Compliance: Ensure the facility complies with all government health and safety regulations.
  • Providing Continuous Learning Opportunities: Provide opportunities for students, residents, fellows, and other providers to learn and grow.
  • Attending Professional Meetings and Engaging in Continuous Medical Education: Attend professional meetings and engage in continuous medical education to stay current with the latest developments in rheumatology.
  • Meeting with Staff to Discuss Workflow and Operational Issues: Meet regularly with staff to discuss workflow, operational problems, and patient care issues.
  • Managing Hospital Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the hospital complies with all regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and Maintaining Professional Relationships: Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, fellow physicians, and staff to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Establishing Collaborative Relationships: Establish collaborative relationships with patients, fellow physicians, and staff to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Establishing and Maintaining Confidentiality: Establish and maintain confidentiality with patients, fellow physicians, and staff.
  • Participating in Continuing Medical Education: Participate in continuing medical education to remain current with evidence-based medicine standards.
  • Continuing Self-Assessment and Improvement: Continuously assess and improve your skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Meeting Professional Requirements: Meet professional requirements relating to continuing education, performance appraisal, and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding Scope of Professional Licensure: Understand the scope of professional licensure and practice medicine and surgery within that scope.
  • Meeting Professional and Contractual Obligations: Meet professional and contractual obligations, including quality, safety, and other standards.
  • Meeting Standards Relating to Performance Appraisal, Professional Development, and Regulatory Compliance: Meet standards relating to performance appraisal, professional development, and regulatory compliance.
