We seek an experienced Team Lead for our Cutting department, requiring advanced to expert-level skills with cutting equipment, specifically Polar/Saber, along with proven leadership, production scheduling, and communication expertise.

The Team Lead will oversee all Cutting operations, ensuring high-quality production meets required quality and cost standards.

The 3rd shift, Monday to Friday, involves working eight or more hours per day, five days a week, based on business needs. Primary working hours are 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM, or similar, with potential training at other times.

The estimated hourly salary for this position ranges from $24.00 to $28.00, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear instructions and work assignments to the Cutting team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
  • Support Plant Management in planning and scheduling production to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the Cutting team to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Motivate team members to maintain a high level of productivity and quality, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in analyzing production workflow, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees are proficient in bindery processes, equipment, and methods.
  • Monitor and maintain the technical competence of team members, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Perform quality checks and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and encourage team members to report incidents, accidents, or near misses to management.
  • Ensure employees comply with company policies and procedures, reporting any violations to Plant Management.
  • Accumulate and report productivity statistics to management, providing insights for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six months to one year of experience operating cutting equipment, specifically Polar/Saber.
  • Minimum one to three years of progressive experience in floor supervision, with a strong focus on team leading and supervisory skills.
  • Minimum one to three years of experience in production scheduling, with the ability to analyze and optimize production workflows.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
