Job Description and Position Requirements
The dairy nutrition research laboratory of Dr. Alex Hristov seeks an undergraduate student to fill a part-time research support position. Key duties include weighing cattle refusal feed, collecting feed samples, and assisting graduate students with other sample collection tasks. Experience with cattle or livestock is preferred, but not necessary. Responsibilities also include assisting with sample processing in the lab, general care and cleaning of the lab and research areas, and working independently.
About the Laboratory
The laboratory focuses on dairy nutrition research, providing a unique opportunity for students to contribute to cutting-edge projects. As a research assistant, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Weighing cattle refusal feed and collecting feed samples
* Assisting graduate students with sample collection tasks
* Assisting with sample processing in the lab (drying, grinding, weighing)
* General care and cleaning of the lab and research areas
* Working independently and as part of a team
Requirements
* Undergraduate student status
* Flexibility to work up to 24 hours per week, including early morning shifts and occasional weekends
