Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit RN Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit team at Mercy. As a Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions, including titration of cardiac drips, chest tubes, and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of bedside experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current RN licensure in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification and ACLS/BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • PCCN certification preferred.
