Position Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Senior Revenue Accountant to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will oversee the revenue accounting operations, ensuring adherence to GAAP and SEC reporting standards while delivering precise and timely financial data to facilitate informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Management:
Administer and execute monthly revenue recognition tasks in alignment with ASC 606. Evaluate and scrutinize contracts to ascertain appropriate revenue recognition methodologies.
Prepare and assess journal entries and account reconciliations pertinent to revenue and deferred revenue accounts.
Financial Reporting:
Contribute to the formulation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K). Partner with external auditors during quarterly evaluations and annual audits, supplying necessary documentation and clarifications.
Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all revenue-related disclosures.
Process Enhancement:
Identify and execute process enhancements to improve efficiency and precision in revenue accounting and reporting.
Establish and uphold internal controls over revenue accounting processes to ensure compliance with SOX.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine workflows and maximize the utilization of financial systems.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct comprehensive analyses of revenue trends and discrepancies, offering insights and recommendations to management.
Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed to support business strategies and decision-making.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with revenue.
Team Leadership and Development:
Guide and mentor junior accounting personnel, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and enhancement.
Assist in training team members on revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Lead special initiatives related to revenue accounting as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
CPA certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, ideally within the healthcare sector.
Extensive familiarity with GAAP, ASC 606, and SEC reporting requirements.
Experience in a publicly traded organization is essential.
Prior exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Skills and Competencies:
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
Proven capability to interpret complex contracts and determine suitable revenue recognition treatment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate across various departments.
Adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and self-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
