Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Program Aide to join our team at Idaho Falls School District 91. As a Special Program Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our school district's curriculum and contributing to maximizing student achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in creating a well-organized and smoothly functioning class environment.
  • Prepare for classroom activities and work with small groups of students to reinforce materials.
  • Assist individual children in need of special attention and provide consistent behavior management techniques.
  • Perform clerical duties and guide independent assignments established by the teacher.
  • Assist with non-instructional classroom duties and supervise students as assigned by the Building Principal.
  • Help prepare class displays and bulletin boards, and construct supplementary materials for use in the classroom.
  • Strive to improve and maintain job skills through inservice training programs and other means.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  • Have regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 48 college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
  • Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
  • Patient, yet firm.
  • Mandt training or the ability to complete Mandt training.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and transfer heavier students with the assistance of appropriate equipment.
  • Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Terms of Employment

This is a full-time position scheduled for 34 hours per week during the school year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board Policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as Grade 5 - $15.32 or $16.08 per hour depending on experience.

This is an 'at will' position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
