Role Summary:
We are in search of a committed and passionate Animal Care Specialist to oversee the well-being and management of our diverse animal collection. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to community engagement and wildlife conservation initiatives.
Key Duties:
• Daily care routines including feeding, habitat upkeep, and health assessments for a variety of species, particularly mammals, reptiles, and birds of prey.
• Delivering engaging educational presentations to various audiences, enhancing public knowledge and appreciation of wildlife.
• Designing and implementing enrichment activities to promote the physical and mental health of all animals in our care.
• Participating in conservation and outreach programs aimed at educating the community about wildlife and environmental sustainability.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biology, Zoology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in handling a diverse range of animal species; familiarity with birds of prey is advantageous.
• Strong organizational abilities and reliability in adhering to schedules and animal care protocols.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills, comfortable engaging with audiences of all ages.
• A genuine passion for animal care, conservation, and education, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
