Acclaim Technical Services, a leading provider of language, operations, and technology services, is seeking a highly skilled Kyrgyz linguist with expertise in Russian and Turkish languages to support our U.S. Federal agency clients.
Job Summary
- We are looking for a linguist with a strong background in Kyrgyz language and culture to work on a variety of language-related tasks, including translation, interpretation, and cultural consulting.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of the Kyrgyz language and be able to apply this knowledge to provide accurate and culturally sensitive translations.
Responsibilities
- Translate documents from Kyrgyz to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Provide consecutive interpretation services for clients, including in-person and remote interpretation.
- Conduct cultural consulting and research to support clients' language needs.
- Collaborate with other linguists and subject matter experts to ensure high-quality language services.
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- BA/BS Degree in Linguistics, Language, or a related field
- Proficiency in Kyrgyz language at a Level 3 on the ILR scale or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time to support clients
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with U.S. Federal agencies or military
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications
- Ability to type at least 45wpm in English and Kyrgyz
- Medically fit to travel to all areas
- Willingness to work in a team environment and provide constructive feedback
