Join Southeastern University as an Enrollment Counselor and play a vital role in shaping the future of our students. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for recruiting, processing, and evaluating applicants for admission. Your expertise will help us achieve our enrollment goals and provide a seamless experience for prospective students.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement successful recruiting strategies to achieve personal enrollment goals within an assigned territory.
- Manage a caseload of up to 600 prospective students at one time, ensuring that recruitment targets are met regarding inquiry, application, acceptance, and enrollment goals.
- Plan and implement recruitment travel within assigned territory to establish pipelines, create networks, and facilitate the achievement of enrollment goals.
- Manage public relations by answering/initiating calls to and from prospective students and families, establishing and cultivating positive relationships, and maintaining rapport with students and families, high school administrators, counselors, teachers, pastors, and SEU alumni.
- Maintain a consistent flow of communication via email, traditional mail, texting, and phone calls with prospective students to establish a relationship between the student and SEU.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date records, tracking statistics, gathering data, maintaining a database of students, and completing routine reports related to projections and conversions of inquiries, applicants, admits, and enrolled student recruitment.
- Conduct affordability conversations with families in regard to their financial aid award letter and make informed financial need recommendations to the financial aid review committee as needed.
- Compile, review, determine acceptance, and process prospective student applications for enrollment from assigned territory, including the evaluation of applicant transcripts, test scores, and supporting documents.
- Broad-based knowledge of the academic programming, student activities, residential life, athletic programs, learning support services, and other extracurricular programs and services at SEU.
- An in-depth knowledge of the policies and procedures governing the distribution of student financial aid.
- Skill in financial literacy for managing programmatic and work-related expenses and reimbursements.
- Knowledge of the multi-cultural and religious diversity on SEU campus.
- Skill in strong, independent judgment, initiative, and critical thinking.
- Skill in presentation, with diverse audiences ranging from small to large groups of people.
- Knowledge of effective personnel management techniques.
- Skill in project management, organization, and office management.
- Skill in customer service and ability to interface with diverse populations during stressful situations.
- Ability to use discretion within current policies and procedures; ability to recommend process improvements.
- Ability to stay well-informed of advances and effective methods in higher education recruitment approaches, tools, and serves as an advocate for achieving best-in-class recruitment practices at SEU.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule, as well as contribute to and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in higher education admissions, campus tour guide, peer advising, or related field, including as an undergraduate.
- Experience in CRM recruitment or Salesforce software.
- Familiarity with analyzing and interpreting data.
All employees are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, including sexual harassment. Occasional lifting of large quantities of recruiting materials and display equipment that may weigh 30-50 pounds is required. Travel is 40% of the time, and the schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends.
