POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Mathematics Educator is to foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for students, encouraging a culture of academic excellence. The educator will establish clear learning objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, effectively communicating these goals to students. Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and assessing tests and assignments in alignment with curriculum standards. The educator will also provide guidance and support to students facing academic challenges or pursuing special interests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement a balanced instructional program that includes activities, demonstrations, and work time, allowing students to observe, inquire, and explore.
• Offer developmentally appropriate opportunities that stimulate curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving, adapting to meet individual student needs.
• Create and maintain a dynamic classroom environment conducive to learning, relevant to the physical, social, and emotional growth of students.
• Select appropriate materials and resources for the instructional program.
• Demonstrate effective behavior management techniques through daily interactions with students and staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop plans and share best practices, ensuring comprehensive support for students and their families.
• Encourage parental involvement and awareness in program planning through open communication, meetings, and newsletters.
• Assist parents in accessing necessary resources and support services.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, district, and school policies regarding documentation and record-keeping.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designated district administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a valid teaching certification in South Carolina or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Must be Highly Qualified in the subject area or able to achieve this status within a specified timeframe.

EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of an accredited program in education.

SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Paid according to the Certified Personnel Salary Schedule
