Your Responsibilities: Some key responsibilities of this role include observing patients, reporting any unusual circumstances to licensed nurses, and organizing nursing care in accordance with unit standards. You will also complete admission and discharge processes, answer call lights and telephones promptly, and conduct patient safety rounds regularly. Additionally, you will perform activities of daily living, assist with meeting nutritional needs, and provide patient treatments as delegated.
What We Require: To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with psychiatry-related or nursing assistant experience preferred. You must also be able to handle disruptive and/or physically violent patients, possess the ability to learn medical terminology and clinical procedures, and complete de-escalation training within four months of hire. A valid Virginia State Driver's license is required for transporting patients.
