Position Overview
The Wound Care Program Manager oversees the clinical operations of the Wound Healing Center.
In collaboration with the Clinic Director, this role is essential in coordinating services to ensure high-quality care for patients suffering from chronic non-healing wounds, adhering to established hospital and nursing standards.
This position operates within the strategic framework of Sarah Bush Lincoln, working autonomously to develop, sustain, and manage the clinical program effectively.Department:

Key Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive wound healing evaluations in accordance with established policies and maintains thorough documentation of all quality review processes.
Ensures that all clinical recommendations are translated into physician orders. Demonstrates a profound understanding of diagnostic data pertinent to wound care, enabling the review of cases for quality enhancement, identifying critical diagnostic information necessary for assessment, care, and outcomes. Ensures that staff members participate in mandatory educational sessions and monitors adherence to safe practices and safety training, which includes hazardous waste management, CPR, body mechanics, infection control, exposure control, adverse event reporting, and emergency preparedness.
Evaluates monthly compliance with the Clinical Pathway and collaborates with the Medical Director and Clinic Director to implement corrective measures as needed. Integrates knowledge of reimbursement processes into patient interactions, working alongside third-party payers and healthcare professionals. Manages clinic personnel in partnership with the Clinic Director, which includes hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, performance evaluations, orientation, and resource utilization.
Facilitates the orientation of new clinical staff to the Clinical Pathway, case management protocols, clinic roles and responsibilities, performance improvement initiatives, and chronic wound management strategies.
Engages in ongoing performance improvement projects in collaboration with Corporate Clinical Resources, the Medical Director, and the Clinic Director. Ensures continuity of care for patients in partnership with physicians, taking responsibility for the planning, execution, and assessment of comprehensive wound care that involves multiple disciplines and care settings. Oversees clinical management for hyperbaric treatment patients and is accountable for the development and management of clinical staff, functions, activities, and appropriate patient care assignments during clinic hours. Actively seeks advanced knowledge, credentials, specialty certifications, training, and education relevant to clinical, administrative, and managerial responsibilities.
Qualifications:Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
Current BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
