The Clinical Nurse IV position at Albany Medical Center requires a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional to contribute to creating a caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues. This role is vital in delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, while documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered. Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
Directing and guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining standards of professional nursing. Graduate of a professional academic nursing program, holding a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree. Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license and obtain/maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
This role may require access to sensitive information, including HIPAA Protected Health Information. As such, workforce members are expected to ensure that access to information is based on a 'need to know' and is the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
