Automotive Technician

Quirk Auto Group Maine is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Bangor Chevrolet. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts and inform team leaders of any issues.
- Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs, if authorized by the customer.
- Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Notify service consultants of any additional work needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document work performed on each vehicle using the concern, cause, and correction format.
- Road-test vehicles to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
- Ensure customer vehicles are returned in a clean condition.
- Keep the shop area clean and organized, and account for all dealership-owned tools.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company's vision, mission, and values in all interactions.
- Meet the company's requirements for employment.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
- General mechanical skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Professional appearance.
- Manual dexterity, good judgment, and ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
- Three years of work experience as a service technician (preferred).
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- ASE certification (preferred).
- Exposure to inclement weather.
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending.
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls, or requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification or successful completion of a pre-employment test.
- Technical or trade school degree preferred.
