Overview: The Floating General Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the assigned store during the absence of a permanent General Manager or collaborates with a General Manager to enhance store functions. This position encompasses various responsibilities, including but not limited to finance, marketing, customer relations, human resources, and food service management. The Floating General Manager leads, supports, and guides the store team in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates expertise in customer relations, management, and food service, actively engaging in daily operations.
  • Collaborates with the FiveStar team to deliver customer service aligned with company standards.
  • Ensures comprehensive and timely training for the store team.
  • Proactively addresses and resolves issues at the store level to ensure long-term solutions.
  • Educates the store team on policies and maintains communication.
  • Manages merchandising and inventory levels, including evaluating displays, pricing, promotional materials, and stock availability.
  • Promotes a welcoming environment, prioritizing customer satisfaction and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Implements inventory control measures, maintains equipment, ensures adequate staffing, adheres to labor budgets, and completes accounting tasks promptly while following safety protocols.
  • Oversees food service operations, assessing the quality and presentation of food areas, monitoring promotions, and adhering to food service standards.
  • Analyzes profit and loss statements and recommends changes to enhance store performance.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail management experience or relevant educational background.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Exhibits a professional appearance and maintains a positive demeanor.
  • Team-oriented, customer-focused, honest, diligent, and reliable with excellent attendance.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to work various shifts (morning, evening, overnight), including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel to different FiveStar locations as needed (typically day travel).
  • Capable of daily physical activities such as standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, and lifting (up to 55 lbs.), as well as working in cold indoor environments (35 degrees or less) and food service preparation.
  • Ability to adapt to varying seasonal weather conditions.
