About the Role

We are currently hiring for a full-time LPN position, working 36 hours per week on the night shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. You will be based at Ascension Via Christi St Joseph hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of your license.
  • Contribute to patient assessment and ensure their well-being throughout their stay.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Perform laboratory tests and provide therapeutic services as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about disease treatment plans, self-care post-discharge, and available resources.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within one month of hire date required.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Practical/Vocational Nurse credential from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of Med Surg hospital experience.
  • IV certificate.
  • Float experience to BH, Medsurg, Postpartum, and ED areas.
