Job Overview

A prominent Tier 2 plastic injection molding firm is in search of a seasoned Advanced Metrology Manager to lead our Metrology Lab. The successful candidate will possess the expertise and determination to ensure that the lab consistently meets and exceeds both internal and external quality benchmarks as well as client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on and apply industry-leading practices while remaining informed about the latest innovations in quality assurance and metrology.
  • Enhance team capabilities and maintain laboratory equipment through programming, training, calibration, and the integration of new technologies.
  • Oversee the financial management of the testing laboratory, ensuring budget adherence and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate work requests, delegate tasks to engineers and technicians, track progress, and address any challenges that may occur.
  • Establish a metrics-driven framework for managing work requests effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving projects within the department.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a laboratory/testing environment (Metrology Lab).

Desirable Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science from a recognized institution.
  • At least two years of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in testing injection molded components within a laboratory context.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 standards.
