Job Description

Yard Truck Specialists stands as the leading dealership for spotter trucks and terminal tractors across the nation. We are dedicated to selling, renting, servicing, and rebuilding more jockey trucks than any other company, supported by the largest truck fleet and an extensive parts inventory.

We are currently looking for a Service Advisor to join our team. This role demands an individual who excels at multitasking, is highly organized, and possesses strong communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and our management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quotes and pre-approved tickets for the service department.
  • Monitor the status of quotes issued.
  • Manage parts on tickets by verifying, adding, or removing as necessary.
  • Document work completed on tickets.
  • Open and close service tickets efficiently.
  • Inform customers about recommended services.
  • Process invoices for purchase orders to customers.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly.
  • Engage with customers and service technicians on a daily basis.
  • Review customer accounts and communicate any changes to internal staff.
  • Notify customers of any changes regarding service timelines and obtain necessary authorizations for additional repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and Parts Department.
  • Assess whether work performed or requested is covered under warranty.
  • Order necessary parts for the service department.
  • Schedule work with Cummins as required.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in service writing is essential.
  • Demonstrated background in sales, customer relations, and dealership operations is required.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and listening skills.
  • Capability to resolve conflicts calmly.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with industry-specific software.
  • Experience with truck parts and service is preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is beneficial.
  • Understanding of warranty processes and factory communication is advantageous.
