Position Overview:
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. The HVAC Technician is responsible for conducting preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance through thorough testing and data analysis. The technician must possess a strong understanding of control operations and the sequence of operations for various HVAC systems. Excellent organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate service records and effectively communicating with team members and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install replacement components and parts according to manufacturer specifications to uphold warranty agreements.
- Perform HVACR preventive maintenance in line with established protocols.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and rectify HVACR issues in compliance with EPA standards.
- Adhere to maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of equipment servicing and accurate operating logs.
- Document all activities, including timesheets, expense reports, service logs, and purchase card records.
- Engage in general tasks such as safety training, team meetings, and maintaining tools and vehicles as required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, along with completion of an HVAC Apprenticeship Program.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, safety policies, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and effectively presenting information in both individual and group settings.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, with basic mathematical skills in various units of measure. Capability to read blueprints and technical schematics.
Licenses and Certifications:
- EPA universal refrigeration license. Additional licenses and certifications as specified in the Service Level Agreement.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- FDNY Fire Watch and Burning Permits.
- Valid Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, and communicate effectively. Occasionally required to sit, reach, climb, and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards. Occasional exposure to wet conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, and extreme temperatures. May require the use of safety equipment, including steel-toed shoes and protective eyewear.
