Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Advanced Urology Associates S C. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting our urology clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Documentation
    • Review patients' medical history, including prior medical and urological history, and document thoroughly.
    • Review available information from other healthcare team members and recognize recent and prior diagnostic test results relevant to patients' current urological health history.
    • Provide urological educational requirements to patients under the direct supervision of a physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Performance of Clinical Skills
    • Perform laboratory services, including venipuncture, urinalysis, and knowledge of laboratory reference services and their requirements.
    • Conduct uroflow, post-void residual testing, and urinary catheterization.
    • Prepare and assist with urological office procedures.
    • Take vital signs and administer medications under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Requirements and Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Registered or Certified by an accrediting program.
    • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
    • Basic math calculation skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic computer skills and keyboarding skills.
    • Ability to work independently or as a team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
    • Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, or stretching.
    • Ability to perform proper body mechanics and assist patients with ambulating, transferring, and lifting.
  • Customer Service
    • Professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and institutional departments.
    • Assess and anticipate patient and family response to urological treatment plans and provide necessary interventions.
  • Technology
    • Provide documentation in an electronic environment following established protocols.
    • Ensure responsibility of current passwords for required institutions and facilities.
    • E-prescribe medications under the direct supervision of a physician and within Advanced Urology.
  • Safety
    • Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance.
    • Follow standard precautions in patient care and implement other infection control measures as necessary.
