Position Summary:

As a Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing holistic patient care across both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will work in close collaboration with our supervising physicians to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting pre-operative evaluations, managing post-operative follow-ups, and assisting in surgical procedures.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Analyze laboratory results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests prior to patient consultations.
  • Document patient medical histories and communicate findings with supervising physicians.
  • Prepare examination rooms and necessary equipment for procedures.
  • Administer injections and perform minor clinical procedures.
  • Review surgical instructions and guide patients through the surgical process.
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to follow-up and post-operative patients.
  • Manage your own patient caseload and coordinate appointment schedules.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans in line with established protocols.
  • Develop and update patient care strategies, consulting with physicians as required.
  • Order necessary pre-operative tests and imaging studies.
  • Conduct hospital rounds and consultations on behalf of supervising physicians.
  • Assist in surgical operations and comply with hospital documentation standards.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and practice guidelines.
  • Stay updated with practice management systems and relevant technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Physician Assistant studies is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years in a high-volume clinical or hospital environment, particularly in orthopedic care.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid Physician Assistant license in the relevant state.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Thorough understanding of Physician Assistant principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding patient care independently.
  • Familiarity with managed care principles and basic coding knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills and capacity to propose effective solutions.
