Job Summary

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in directing and coordinating all production activities at Independent Can Company's Belcamp, MD facility. This position is responsible for ensuring safety, human resources, administration, customer satisfaction, materials management, productivity management, scheduling, and preventive maintenance are all aligned to meet manufacturing department goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate production activities to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of production rates, labor costs, and equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Cost Department, Shipping, and Engineering Departments to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees are equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure proper levels of spare parts and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Working Conditions

The Operations Manager will work in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
