Job Title: CT Technologist

Sigma Healthcare Team is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Boston, MA.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist will operate CT equipment to acquire high-quality images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Digital Imaging and Radiology Information Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol.
  • Prepare patients for exams, ensuring proper positioning and immobilization.
  • Select proper imaging factors and image the designated portion(s) of the body.
  • Deliver patient care under the scope of license/training.
  • Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment to be used during the workday.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.
  • Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions as necessary for each patient exam.
  • Perform venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain appropriate CEUs in accordance with Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. requirements.
  • May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department.
  • Prepare the equipment room and supplies necessary for each patient and regular daily use.
  • Transport and transfer patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology.
  • Must possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT or equivalent CT certification and registration within one year of start of employment.
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.
  • ARRT certification.
  • Must be BLS (Basic Life Support) certified.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing pace within the department, with frequent interruptions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Digital Imaging, the Radiology Information System, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiology relating to patient information and management.
