Responsibilities:
  • Assist RNs in patient care tasks, adhering to NYS LPN scope of practice and NYULH policy.
  • Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care, emphasizing understanding of patient challenges.

  • Participate in patient-centered quality and performance improvement programs.
  • Acquire and maintain current LPN knowledge and competence.
  • Support NYULH missions, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives.
  • Collect patient healthcare data systematically and enforce adherence to NYULH and FGP policies and procedures.
  • Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
  • Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, weights, EKGs as needed, and perform blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
  • Administer medications, including injections, in accordance with NYULMC clinical guidelines and NYS Scope of Practice.
  • Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Maintain awareness of current patient-centered evidence-based practices and use knowledge of applicable research data in provision of patient care.
  • Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
  • Assist patients and communicate with licensed providers to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
  • Perform patient-related functions as directed by the Licensed Provider and/or Registered Nurse (RN), and document properly.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of LPN program with current NYS OP LPN licensure and registration.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment.
  • Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BLS certification preferred.
