Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves assisting in the development and upkeep of park landscapes, which encompasses tasks such as grass mowing, equipment maintenance, watering, pruning, and the installation and removal of various plants and trees.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes power tools including blowers, mowers, trimmers, and clippers; employs hand tools such as pruners, lopping shears, shovels, and rakes. Reports daily performance, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Conducts routine maintenance on tools and equipment, including greasing, oiling, and fueling; assists in unloading trucks and organizing supplies.
  • Installs and removes flooring and foliage, applies mulch, and manages tree care; prunes, trims, and clears brush; maintains and mows grassy areas.
  • Transplants, irrigates, and fertilizes flowers; manages weeds and disbuds flower beds; ensures adequate watering of plants.
  • Assists in the development of new construction areas; collaborates on irrigation systems.
  • Delivers customer service in alignment with company standards when interacting with guests or collaborating with team members, including initiating conversations, addressing inquiries, and providing directions.
  • Ensures cleanliness and safety in the designated work area, adhering to safety protocols and reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to management.
  • Meets scheduling requirements, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill operational needs.
  • Complies with attendance policies as outlined by the company.
  • Follows company conduct guidelines, including specific grooming and attire standards as detailed in employee policies.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possession of a valid state or provincial driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug screening in accordance with company policy, unless restricted by law.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, if 18 years or older, which may include credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, in accordance with company policy, unless restricted by law.
