Job Title: Retail Operations Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Retail Operations Project Manager will play a key role in facilitating various projects and tasks that support Bass Pro Inc.'s initiatives and site-specific projects. This position will serve as a liaison between the company's headquarters and field teams, regularly reporting project progress to senior management as required. The successful candidate will contribute to improving and developing systems, processes, and procedures, while maintaining a strong commitment to world-class customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the facilitation of Bass Pro Inc.'s initiatives and site-specific projects to achieve target project goals.
  • Contribute to and review project proposals to determine appropriate timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources.
  • Define and design activities, starting from the beginning or leveraging existing solutions.
  • Communicate with and coordinate projects with the project sponsor at a tactical level.
  • Manage the overall project progress through the various phases of the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business, or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management and/or Retail Management is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of other financial, legal, and technical information.
  • The ability to read and analyze reports. The ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from company leadership, managers, and associates.
  • The ability to conduct meetings and presentations to large and small groups.
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, and data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers, and with the Corporate Staff.
Travel Requirements:
  • 10% or less.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.
  • Occasionally walks and stands.
  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
Independent Judgement:
  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans.
  • Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
