Job Title: Financial Analyst - Accounts Payable FocusOur client, a global chemical distributor, is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team. As an Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst, you will be responsible for handling vendor queries, processing payments timely in Oracle, and maintaining the accuracy of the AP subledger in the Financials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily cash projections for material purchase orders and weekly for incidental expenses, analyzing the "pay planning" report and "vouchered but not created invoice" report daily.
- Prepare payment templates in Oracle and ensure accuracy of suppliers' wire instructions, monitoring execution of payments by reviewing current bank balances.
- Maintain a "late payment" tracker and collaborate with other departments to resolve issues.
- Provide professional responses to vendor payment inquiries and proactively reach out to vendors to reconcile current payments with their statements.
- Resolve complex AP/IT tickets and guide/train the AP Specialists team.
- Lead month-end close for AP activities, including reconciling the AP subledger to the General Ledger (GL), netting off intercompany AP and AR transactions, and reconciling bank accounts with the GL and advance payments to suppliers.
- Maintain accuracy of the AP subledger in Oracle by applying prepayments to outstanding balances for all legal entities, netting-off difference in currency translation, and proceeding with write-ups/off for legacy issues.
- Initiate the new supplier onboarding process by providing compliance documents required to the AP Manager as per Company guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience with report generation, analysis, and demonstrated work experience as an Accounts Payable Analyst or similar role.
- Preferred industries: Chemicals, Distribution, Manufacturing, Commodities, Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Consumer Products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems.
- Solid Excel skills.
- Demonstrated work experience as an Accounts Payable Analyst or similar role.
- Expertise in accounting and business management software, Oracle a plus.
- Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities.
Compensation:
- $80K plus excellent benefits.
- Hybrid work schedule (4 days in office, 1 remote).
