Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Part-time Cook to join our culinary team at Forefront Healthcare & Culinary Services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This will include following standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for completing daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, tasting completed meals to ensure quality, and monitoring the temperature of hot and cold foods.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have a minimum of 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare dietary setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving, as well as the ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions and work assignments.

Physical Demands

The Part-time Cook will be required to stand and walk intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment. The candidate must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

Working Conditions

The Part-time Cook will work in a fast-paced culinary environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to work varied shifts, including every other weekend, and will be required to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Compensation

The Part-time Cook will be paid an hourly wage of $18.00-$20.00, depending on experience. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Education and Experience

A high school graduate or equivalent education is preferred. Preference is given to persons with an education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Additional Information
