Position Title: Internal Compliance Auditor

Location: Eau Claire, WI

Compensation: $75-80,000 (negotiable) + benefits

Overview of Responsibilities

The Internal Compliance Auditor plays a crucial role in executing internal assessments of Quality, Food Safety, Operations, and Maintenance systems. This includes frameworks such as ISO22000, ISO22002, FSSC, and various regulatory standards. The role also encompasses the management of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and overseeing the facility's mock recall and traceability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute audits efficiently, ensuring effective resource utilization and clear communication with process owners.
  • Develop and update training materials for the CAPA system and mock recall procedures.
  • Provide training and mentorship to ensure team members are well-versed in necessary systems and protocols.
  • Review incidents related to corrective and preventive actions, determining action ownership and verifying the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of corrective and preventive actions within the Trackwise system.
  • Collaborate with action owners to ensure timely closure of tasks.
  • Identify and relay trends in non-conformances to process owners and the Quality team.
  • Coordinate with both internal resources and external auditors to schedule and facilitate audits.
  • Summarize and present audit results to process owners and management.
  • Act as the representative for the facility during external audits of management systems.
  • Oversee the mock recall and traceability program.
  • Train key personnel on executing mock recalls and traceability activities.
  • Understand the food safety and quality components of the role as outlined by On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices and all associated procedures and programs.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset throughout all responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in a regulated environment with a strong audit background and a solid understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant Quality experience.
  • Experience in a regulated food manufacturing setting, with knowledge of 21 CFR 117, lean manufacturing, and FSSC22000/SQF regulations, along with preferred familiarity with 21 CFR 106/107 and 21 CFR 113.
